How Mangoes Are Harvested at ASD Orchards
Share
Every mango season begins months before the fruit is ready to harvest. From flowering and fruit growth to irrigation and careful picking, growing mangoes requires patience, timing, and close attention to seasonal conditions.
At ASD Orchards, our focus is on harvesting mangoes carefully and delivering them fresh from the orchard during the natural season.
Watching the Trees Through the Season
The mango season starts with flowering during the cooler months. As temperatures rise, small mangoes slowly begin developing on the trees over several weeks.
During this period, the orchard requires:
- Irrigation during summer heat
- Monitoring of fruit growth
- Seasonal pruning and tree care
- Protection from weather fluctuations
Every mango variety matures slightly differently depending on the tree, weather, and season.
Harvesting at the Right Stage
Mangoes are not harvested randomly. Timing is extremely important because harvest stage affects:
- Sweetness
- Aroma
- Ripening quality
- Shelf life
- Texture
At ASD Orchards, mangoes are harvested in batches as they reach the appropriate maturity stage during the season.
Some varieties are harvested slightly firmer for safer transport, while others are allowed additional tree maturity depending on weather and dispatch timing.
Careful Picking & Handling
Harvesting mangoes requires careful handling to reduce damage to the fruit.
After harvesting:
- Mangoes are sorted by condition and size
- Damaged fruits are separated
- Fruits are carefully packed for dispatch
- Orders are prepared in smaller batches
Because mangoes are natural agricultural products, every fruit may vary slightly in appearance, shape, or color.
Fresh Dispatch During the Season
At ASD Orchards, we try to dispatch mangoes soon after harvesting whenever possible during the season.
This helps maintain:
- Freshness
- Aroma
- Natural ripening
- Better eating quality
Because of this process, deliveries may sometimes take slightly longer compared to warehouse-stored fruit.
Naturally Ripened Seasonal Mangoes
Our mangoes are naturally ripened on trees and continue ripening naturally after harvest. Different varieties soften and develop flavor differently during the season.
For best results:
- Keep mangoes at room temperature until ripe
- Refrigerate briefly before serving
- Avoid refrigerating unripe mangoes
Traditionally, many families also soak mangoes in water before eating.
Seasonal Farming Requires Patience
Fruit farming depends heavily on weather, temperatures, flowering conditions, rainfall, and seasonal changes. Every harvest season is slightly different, and nature ultimately decides the pace of the crop.
This seasonal variation is part of what makes fresh orchard-grown mangoes unique each year.
Mangoes From ASD Orchards
At ASD Orchards, we continue focusing on seasonal harvesting, careful handling, and delivering fresh mangoes directly from our orchard during the summer season.
For us, mango season is not only about selling fruit — it is about sharing the results of an entire year of orchard care and patience.
