Mango Season in India

Mango Season in India – When Different Mango Varieties Arrive

Mango season in India usually begins during the summer months and continues in phases as different varieties mature at different times. Weather conditions, rainfall, temperature, and regional climate can all influence harvest timing each year.

At ASD Orchards, we harvest mangoes seasonally in small batches as each variety naturally matures on the trees.

Here’s a simple guide to when different mango varieties are usually available during the season.

Early Season Mangoes

Ratol Mangoes

Typical Season: Early June to Mid July

Ratol mangoes are among the earlier premium mango varieties in our orchard season. Known for their rich sweetness and strong aroma, they are available only for a limited time each year.

Heritage Mangoes

Typical Season: Early June onwards

Our Heritage Mangoes come from old seed-grown trees, so harvest timing may vary naturally between trees and batches.

Some fruits are harvested raw for traditional recipes and pickles, while others are allowed to ripen fully on trees.

Mid Season Mangoes

Dasheri Mangoes

Typical Season: Mid June to Early July

Dasheri mangoes are one of North India’s most loved traditional varieties, known for their aroma, sweetness, and smooth texture.

Amrapali Mangoes

Typical Season: Mid June to Late July

Amrapali mangoes are smaller but extremely flavorful, with deep orange pulp and concentrated sweetness.

Raw Mango Season

Raw mangoes for pickles and chutneys are generally harvested earlier in the season before full ripening begins.

At ASD Orchards, varieties like Ramkela are harvested at the appropriate raw stage for traditional achar preparation.

Late Season Mangoes

Langra Mangoes

Typical Season: Late June to Mid July

Langra mangoes are known for their unique tangy-sweet flavor and rich aroma. Their green skin often stays green even when ripe.

Chausa Mangoes

Typical Season: Mid July to August

Chausa is one of the most anticipated late-season mangoes, loved for its juicy pulp and rich sweetness.

Mango Seasons Naturally Vary

Mangoes are highly seasonal fruits, and harvest timing changes slightly every year depending on:

  • Summer temperatures
  • Rainfall
  • Tree flowering
  • Irrigation conditions
  • Regional climate patterns

Because of this, availability windows are approximate and may shift slightly during the season.

Why Seasonal Harvesting Matters

At ASD Orchards, we harvest mangoes during their proper seasonal maturity instead of storing fruit long-term for extended sales.

This helps preserve:

  • Natural flavor
  • Aroma
  • Freshness
  • Texture
  • Seasonal quality

Different mango varieties are best enjoyed during their natural harvest window.

Seasonal Mangoes From ASD Orchards

Our mangoes are naturally ripened on trees, freshly harvested after orders are placed, and delivered directly from our orchard during the season.

Because we harvest in smaller seasonal batches, some varieties may sell out quickly during peak season.
